Photo Accession # 98-038-0001 By C. E. Watkins on a I. W. Taber, mount # 2002 3"x7" Stereoview circa 1875 Farallon Island Light was built in 1855 and was officially turned on on January 1, 1856 and it had a first order Fresnel lens. It is one of the original West Coast lighthouses. Location 23 miles off the Golden Gate on Southeast Farallon Island. We also have photos of the Point Pinos Lighthouse, Point Sur lighthstation, Santa Cruz Lighthouse, Piedras Blanco Light, Pigeon Point Lighthouse, Trinidad Head Light, Crecent City Lighthouse and other California Lighthouses. This photo has resentley used by the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park in a display of the first order Fresnel lens at the new Vistor Center in the Haslett Warehouse.
